The Restaurant Donna Copenhagen designed by TONEN Agency is an opulent and festive Italian culinary playground located on the ground floor of the historic 1899 Hotel Bella Grande near City Hall Square. The interior design narrative beautifully juxtaposes old-world Italian grandeur with a moody, romantic, and mildly surreal nightlife atmosphere inspired by a Venetian palazzo. The layout unfolds across three distinct dining zones, beginning with a seductive front dining room defined by a glossy, dark-red ceiling, blood-toned upholstered banquettes, and heavy pink curtains that block out natural light to create a mysterious restaurant-nightclub vibe. This dramatic space gives way to a laid-back cocktail lounge and a breathtaking, light-filled central atrium courtyard. The glass-covered atrium serves as the social heart of the building, preserving the property's original 1899 stone arches to create intimate dining nooks surrounded by deep green ivy crawling down pink and peach-colored walls. The flooring acts as a magnificent visual anchor, alternating between striking two-toned red and white checkerboard marble tiles and intricate grand parquet. Curated in collaboration with prestigious furniture brands, the seating features the softly curved silhouettes of Loafer chairs and Loafer sofas from &Tradition, which mirror the architectural curves of the historic building while providing a plush, supportive experience. These luxurious, fluid lines are balanced by the Scandinavian simplicity of Pavilion chairs and In Between dining tables also supplied by the brand. Custom hospitality pieces were carefully sourced from Sofacompany Professional to deliver an elegant balance of comfort and timeless Italian flair. Moody, ambient illumination is scattered throughout using portable Seine lamps from GUBI, working alongside whimsical, eclectic side tables from Polspotten, oversized floral arrangements, and custom vanities by Københavns Møbelsnedkeri to ensure that every corner expresses a distinctive sense of vintage glamour.
