The 25hours Hotel Paper Island designed by the Swedish creative team Stylt Trampoli is a serene and nostalgic retreat situated on the transformed industrial site of Christiansholm. The interior design narrative focuses on the concept of a Danish summer house by the sea, offering a striking juxtaposition to the building's pioneering harbor architecture by Cobe. The design evokes a journey from the bustling city to a tranquil island, starting at a harbor-themed reception and moving through public spaces that resemble a charming village. The one hundred and twenty-eight guest rooms are styled after traditional Scandinavian holiday homes, featuring light oak wood flooring, blue and white maritime color schemes, and tongue-and-groove paneling. Decorative elements include porthole-like mirrors and nautical-striped cushions alongside playful details such as bespoke wallpaper with ring-pull flower patterns. Sustainability is a core component of the design, with upcycled and recycled materials used for furniture, signage, and artwork throughout the property. The lobby features rustic metals and brick floors to recall the site's history as a hub for newspaper storage and harbor traffic, while the eclectic mix of furniture includes antique and flea market finds. Bespoke rugs designed by Massimo Copenhagen add warmth and character to the creative social spaces, which include the Nomad Day Bar and the Asian-fusion restaurant Tiger Lily. Visible ceiling installations and the use of concrete and timber reference the island's industrial heritage, while the Sky Bar on the top floor offers panoramic views of the water to reinforce the maritime environment.
