The AC Hotel Bella Sky Copenhagen, designed by renowned Danish architectural firm 3XN, is a sculptural modern retreat housed in two iconic leaning twenty-three-story towers that tilt dramatically at fifteen degrees in the heart of Ørestad. The interior narrative themed Nordic Modernism and Structural Geometry explores the tension between colossal architectural gravity and domestic warmth by blending avant-garde kinetic forms with tactile Scandinavian simplicity.

The hotel features eight hundred and twelve rooms split into dynamic, light-filled layouts that maximize the complex triangular geometry of the shifting towers. Standard Rooms draw inspiration from classic Danish functionalism with bespoke platform beds utilizing space-saving oak cabinetry alongside floor-to-ceiling angled windows framing the surrounding protected nature reserves. The Corner Suites celebrate panoramic height through sweeping dual-aspect living areas along with dedicated lounge zones looking out across Amager Fælled and the Copenhagen skyline.

Public spaces are designed as a soaring, gallery-like sequence of geometric volumes with the ground-floor lobby featuring a colossal, multi-story living green wall and undulating acoustic timber ceilings as a nod to Denmark’s deep connection between architectural innovation and nature. Specialized social zones include the sky-high Sukaiba Restaurant & Bar on the twenty-third floor for Japanese-influenced dining and the expansive sky-bridge lounge which is a breathtaking elevated nook connecting the two towers high above the ground.

The furniture is a museum of contemporary Scandinavian design with iconic pieces from Fritz Hansen and Hay curated alongside bespoke built-in woodwork custom-designed specifically for this site. A notable collaboration with Danish heritage makers features classic Grand Prix and Egg chairs upholstered in textured wool fabrics exclusive to this property while bespoke geometric carpets and streamlined bathroom pods were engineered to follow the building’s signature leaning angles.

The design utilizes a clean Nordic palette such as pale blonde oak, cool mist grey, slate black, and meadow green across natural wood surfaces and tailored textile patterns. Structural moments are celebrated throughout the property including striking triangular window frames and faceted facade details inspired by the crystalline forms of modern Scandinavian design. The central ground-floor atrium serves as an energetic international meeting hub for global travelers while pale birch paneling meets polished terrazzo, blackened steel details, and tactile acoustic fabrics in the social spaces to emphasize a diverse material mix.
