Description

The France Chair, also known as FJ 136, was designed in 1956 by Finn Juhl. It is recognized for its characteristic features that are emblematic of Finn Juhl's design style, including a seat and back that appear to float above the frame and ergonomically designed armrests.

About the design

The France Chair is produced by House of Finn Juhl since 2016 and is available in either oak or walnut. It offers a choice of hand-sewn covers in textile or leather. Originally developed in collaboration with furniture manufacturer France &amp Son for the American market, the chair was initially delivered in flat packs requiring customer assembly. This was a significant part of France &amp Son's business idea and contributed to their success in the American market. Today, the chair is delivered fully assembled.
