The Darling, Copenhagen, conceived and designed by Jens Løkke and Uffe Buchard of Darling Creative Studio, is a curated design gallery retreat and boutique guest house housed on the second floor of a 1730s heritage building overlooking the historic square of Amagertorv. The interior narrative themed The Collector's Sanctuary explores the tension between residential intimacy and museum-grade curation by blending private, livable spaces with an immersive showcase of Danish design history.

The property features three distinct private residences split into individually styled apartment layouts: The Grand, The Classic, and The Cosy. The Cosy draws inspiration from intimate Nordic warmth with bespoke DUX beds dressed in Aiayu ecological linens alongside a signature Nevergreen kitchenette by Københavns Møbelsnedkeri and an Arne Jacobsen Egg Table. The Grand and The Classic celebrate spatial grandeur through expansive multi-room salons along with handcrafted kitchens, library nooks, and sprawling multi-paned windows framing sweeping views of the historic Stork Fountain and the Church of the Holy Spirit.

Public spaces are conceived not as conventional hotel lobbies but as an exclusive private residential realm where every cataloged design piece is available for acquisition, featuring bespoke concierge and private-butler services as a nod to classic aristocratic hospitality. Specialized social zones include the private dining salons where dedicated personal chefs prepare intimate feasts and the handcrafted maxibars tucked into vintage credenzas which are seductive residential nooks filled with curated spirits and bespoke barware.

The furniture is a museum-caliber dialogue between mid-century Danish masters and contemporary icons with most gallery plinths, customized textiles, and staging curated specifically for this site. A notable collaboration with Danish heritage makers features Børge Mogensen Spokeback sofas, Hans J. Wegner Papa Bear chairs, and Poul Kjærholm masterpieces produced alongside custom marble vanities by Journey and dove-blue wall tiles by File Under Pop.

The design utilizes deeply saturated, atmospheric tones such as chalky petrol blue, deep forest green, charcoal, and warm brass across hand-painted walls and tactile textile drapery. Over one hundred contemporary Danish artworks are curated throughout the apartments including striking modern paintings, sculptures, and ceramics by leading local artists. The sun-drenched grand salons serve as private living and entertaining stages for discerning travelers while original historic floorboards meet honed marble surfaces, patinated brass tapware by TONI Copenhagen, and heavy wool rugs in the suites to emphasize a diverse material mix.
