Description

The GUBI PD2 Floor Lamp is an iconic piece designed by Barba Corsini in 1955, originally created for the interior decoration of La Pedrera, one of Barcelona's most famous buildings. Its design is inspired by the unique architectural elements of La Pedrera.

About the design

The PD2 Floor Lamp showcases a powerful yet simple character, reflecting Corsini's personal design style. The lamp's base draws inspiration from the vaulted ceilings of La Pedrera, while the cylindrical shape and unique perforated details of the lampshade are influenced by the building's chimneys. This floor lamp is a part of Corsini's Pedrera Collection, which was designed to complement the modern apartments he transformed in La Pedrera. The lamp was rediscovered and saved from disposal during a renovation in 1991 by architect and gallerist Joaquim Ruiz Millet, who then collaborated with Corsini to recreate and make these designs available to the public.
