Description

The AJ Oxford table lamp has a clean and graphic expression that reflects the architectural style of St Catherine's College in Oxford, for which the lamp was originally designed. Designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1962 in a modernist architectural style, the building contrasts with the surrounding classical university buildings. The AJ Oxford table lamp was originally designed as a table lamp for the long oak tables in the impressive dining hall at St Catherine's College. The AJ Oxford table lamps provide light on the tables, while the AJ Eklipta on the walls provides general lighting and is a beautiful supplement to the natural light. The lamp is still found at St Catherine's College, which continues to be used for both teaching and accommodation for the students at Oxford University. The AJ Oxford lamp is beautifully shaped with a slim stem that bends stylishly and forms the circular foot. The graphic shape and monochrome colors make the AJ Oxford table lamp a timeless design that fits in any home. The table lamp is available in different variants, both with and without a metal top shade and in two different heights, the smaller of which is ideal for placing on a shelf or on the windowsill. In addition, the tall variant is also available as a table stick lamp, as a tribute to Arne Jacobsen's original design.
