AAC 155 Soft

The AAC 155 Soft is a high-back task chair from HAY’s iconic About A Chair collection, designed by Hee Welling in 2021 to bridge the gap between executive functionality and residential comfort. This model distinguishes itself through a quilted, fully upholstered shell that offers a softer, more voluminous aesthetic compared to the series' more minimalist iterations. The chair features a five-star swivel base crafted from polished or powder-coated aluminium, equipped with a smooth-running gas lift for height adjustment (44–56 cm) and a tilt mechanism that follows the user's natural movements. Designed for long working sessions, the ergonomic shell supports the back and shoulders while its soft padding—typically consisting of 15–20mm of foam and wadding—provides exceptional warmth and flexibility. Measuring 62 cm in width and up to 100 cm in height, the AAC 155 Soft is highly customizable with an extensive range of premium textiles and leathers from suppliers like Kvadrat, making it suitable for both professional office environments and private studies.
