J52B Easy Chair - Beech

The J52B Easy Chair is a cornerstone of Danish democratic design, originally conceived by Børge Mogensen in 1952 for FDB Møbler. Reinterpreting the classic English Windsor chair, Mogensen streamlined the silhouette to suit the Scandinavian modernist aesthetic, resulting in a versatile piece that functions as both a dining chair and a lounge seat. The chair is characterized by its high, curved spindle backrest and integrated steam-bent armrests, which are supported by a solid wood frame typically crafted from FSC-certified beech or oak. This specific model famously earned the nickname "The President's Chair" after becoming a reported favorite of John F. Kennedy. Measuring 90.1 cm in height and 56 cm in width, the J52B is available in a variety of water-based lacquered finishes—including jet black, forest green, and brick red—as well as natural oiled oak.
