Description

The J81 Chair with Armrests, designed by Jørgen Bækmark in the 1950s, is a classic dining chair. Bækmark was tasked with designing a chair series for Tarm Stolefabrik that would suit FDB's more mature customer segment. The J81 is a wider version of the J80 chair.

About the design

The chair's woven seat provides extra comfort, making it an ideal choice for a dining chair. Additionally, the J81 Chair with Armrests can also serve as a standalone piece in an entryway. The chair is part of FDB Møbler's collection, known for its beautiful, functional, and affordable furniture. FDB Møbler is recognized globally for its iconic Danish design furniture, made from FSC-certified and sustainable wood, with Öko-Tex-certified textiles. Jørgen Bækmark, who led FDB Møbler's design studio from 1958 to 1967, focused on creating simple, timeless wooden furniture that was affordable due to machine production.
