Description

Bentwood is, to date, the world's most successful mass-produced designer furniture. The technique for producing the chair was developed and perfected during the 1850s by Michael Thonet. Thonet was the world's first furniture manufacturer to bend wood - this meant that, among other things, could pack 36 unassembled chairs into a cubic meter, send it all over the world and the chair could then be assembled on site. With its beautiful aesthetics, good sitting comfort and top quality, the Bentwood chair has been placed in the most diverse environments for more than 150 years.
