Hee Welling and Gudmundur Ludvik

Danish-Icelandic design duo Hee Welling and Gudmundur Ludvik are acclaimed for their rational, elegant approach rooted in Nordic woodworking traditions and modern industrial craft. Both trained as cabinetmakers before earning degrees from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and the Danish Design School, establishing their collaborative partnership, Welling/Ludvik, in 2010. Their shared philosophy focuses on stripping away the superfluous to achieve pure structural balance, ergonomic comfort, and environmental longevity. Collaborating with prominent Scandinavian brands including Cane-line, Fredericia, and Lapalma, they have shaped contemporary contract and residential spaces. Key works include the minimalist Less chair series, the light-scaled Area aluminum tables, and the versatile Pato family for Fredericia Furniture, alongside the outdoor-ready Cut collection for Cane-line.
