The F Chair from Brdr. Krüger takes a strictly geometric, reductive approach to the traditional Shaker-style seat. Designed by Rasmus Bækkel Fex, it entirely bypasses the bulky, carved volumes of classical dining chairs in favor of a clean-cut, architectural profile. Built from solid European oak—offered in raw oiled, fumed, or heavily lacquered finishes—the wooden frame strips away all decorative turning. Instead, it relies on straightforward cylindrical dowels and visible, heavy-duty joinery to provide mechanical rigidity. Measuring roughly 55 centimeters wide and 47 centimeters deep, it maintains a highly condensed footprint, allowing you to line up multiple chairs side-by-side without visually blocking the room or boxing in the seating area. Its defining structural feature is the woven seat. Rather than relying on a rigid timber board or thick, heat-trapping foam upholstery, the seat is formed by tightly weaving 100% natural flax linen webbing or traditional paper cord directly over the open frame. This woven surface functions mechanically—it provides a natural, slight flex that physically contours to the user under weight, delivering immediate, targeted support for long meals without adding physical mass to the chair. For heavy-duty commercial applications, this natural webbing can be swapped for a highly resilient synthetic weave built to withstand continuous daily friction. Engineered to adapt to different spatial demands, the F Chair is available as a streamlined side chair or in a dedicated armchair format. In the armchair version, the horizontal supports are fixed at exactly 69 centimeters high, explicitly scaled to clear the underside of a standard dining table so the piece can be tucked away cleanly when not in use. Rated for maximum commercial durability, it completely avoids concealed metal brackets or complicated hardware.
