Studio Nooi

Design partnership Studio Nooi—founded by Italian industrial designer Giulia Pesce and Swiss industrial designer Ruggero Bastita—is celebrated for an elemental, multicultural approach that balances industrial manufacturing logic with domestic warmth. Meeting while completing master’s degrees in product design in Turin and Gothenburg, the duo founded their studio to bridge Mediterranean expressive tactility with Scandinavian reduction. Studio Nooi gained prominent acclaim through prolific collaborations with progressive European brands. For Danish furniture brand Bolia, they created the celebrated Foliage bed series and the modular Lomi sofa collection, distinguished by elegant, cushion-forward profiles raised on slender steel legs. Their work explores FSC-certified hardwoods, powder-coated metals, and tactile natural textiles, prioritizing intuitive ergonomics, small-footprint urban living, and repairable flat-pack components.
