Danish furniture architect Hans Olsen (1919–1992) was an exceptionally inventive modernist renowned for pushing bentwood and organic contours into unexpected functional forms. A student of Kaare Klint at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Olsen opened his studio in 1953, exploring ergonomic seating solutions tailored to modern spaces. Olsen created several celebrated mid-century landmarks, manufactured historically by Bramin and Frem Røjle, and reissued by Warm Nordic. His defining masterpiece is the space-saving Roundette Dining Set (1952), featuring three-legged dining chairs whose curved backs slide seamlessly flush under the table apron. He also authored the organic Fried Egg lounge chair and the sculptural Bikini Chair.
