Amanda Lilholt

Danish furniture designer and artist Amanda Lilholt (b. 1989) is celebrated for an expressive, boundary-pushing practice that merges fine art sculpture with architectural furniture. Graduating from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts (KADK) in 2015, she founded her eponymous Copenhagen studio to explore raw material behavior. Lilholt achieved international recognition for dramatic furniture featuring scorched solid oak, patinated brass, polished marble, and pigmented glass. Beyond collectible gallery pieces, she created the acclaimed modular A Sofa collection for Danish brand Formel A, celebrated for its low, architectural proportions and deep lounge comfort. Her work explores physical balance, visual weight, and brutalist geometries.
