Danish cabinetmaker and furniture architect Niels Otto Møller (1920–1982) was one of the purest master woodworkers of the Danish Modern golden age. Completing his cabinetmaking apprenticeship in 1939, Møller founded J.L. Møllers Møbelfabrik in 1944, maintaining complete control over both design and production. Møller achieved worldwide fame for his handcrafted solid teak, rosewood, and oak dining chairs. Landmarks include the Model 75 (1954), the sculptural Model 78 with its tapered pickets, and the organic Model 79. Each chair is celebrated for its sweeping, hand-carved solid wood transitions, absence of sharp corners, and meticulously hand-woven natural paper cord seats.
