Mia Hamborg
Norwegian furniture designer Mia Hamborg is celebrated for an imaginative, sensory approach that challenges conventional Scandinavian minimalism with vibrant color theory and modular assembly. Graduating with a degree in furniture design from the Steneby School of Crafts and Design in Sweden, Hamborg embraces hands-on woodcraft and functional play. Hamborg achieved worldwide design fame with the iconic Shuffle Table (MH1, 2010), produced by Danish design house &Tradition. Inspired by classic wooden stacking toys, the table features turned and lacquered solid beech and MDF components mounted onto a central steel rod, allowing users to rearrange the shapes, colors, and table heights at will. Her work revitalizes traditional Nordic lathe-turning techniques while inviting personal creative interaction.
