Milanese architects and industrial designers Ludovica and Roberto Palomba—founders of Palomba Serafini Associati in 1994—are towering figures in contemporary Italian design, celebrated for an organic, sensual approach they define as "emotional architecture." Both graduating in architecture from the University of Rome, the married duo balances industrial design, luxury yachting, and architecture. Recipients of multiple Compasso d'Oro awards, they achieved acclaim for revolutionizing bathroom architecture with the Palomba Collection and Kartell by Laufen. For lighting brand Foscarini, they created the blown-glass Gregg and the tactile Tartan pendants. They have also authored monumental modular sofas and seating systems for Poltrona Frau, Zanotta, Driade, Flaminia, and Talenti.
