Björn Alge
Swedish building engineer turned industrial designer Björn Alge (1943–1999) was an influential pioneer of post-war Swedish furniture design, recognized for uniting structural engineering with ergonomic comfort. Graduating from Konstfack in 1982, Alge later co-founded the influential studio Myra Industrial Design. Alge achieved industry-defining acclaim through his long-standing partnership with Swedish office furniture giant Kinnarps. His high-performance task chairs from the Series 6000 and 8000 revolutionized ergonomic contract seating across Europe, produced by the thousands daily. His portfolio also includes the celebrated Yran Chair (1985) for Lindelöfs, inspired by Wegner and Jacobsen, alongside the structural Frame chair.
