Norwegian architect and designer Knut Bendik Humlevik (b. 1984) is celebrated for bringing tactile material richness, organic softness, and architectural balance to contemporary Nordic design. Graduating from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts (KADK) in Copenhagen in 2014, Humlevik quickly emerged as an influential creative voice, serving as co-founder and Creative Director of Danish design brand New Works. Leading the brand's aesthetic direction, Humlevik has designed several defining collections, notably the sculptural Covent seating family—celebrated for soft, curved upholstered shells floating above slender steel legs—and the architectural Margin lighting series, which reinterprets classical textile shades with layered volumes. His work emphasizes natural marble, cast aluminum, solid oak, and raw textiles that patinate gracefully over time.
