Danish architect Esben Klint (1915–1969)—working alongside the historic Klint Design Team—carried forward Denmark's legendary pleating and lighting lineage. The son of Kaare Klint and grandson of P.V. Jensen-Klint, Esben was steeped in Danish functionalism, training under leading architects before leading projects for ecclesiastical and civic spaces. As a core creative pillar of Le Klint, Esben authored essential lighting icons including the Model 107 pendant—often called the "Fruit Lamp"—a compact, hand-folded pleated shade that balances gentle symmetry with glare-free diffusion. The Klint Design Team continues to preserve these proprietary hand-folding techniques in Odense, translating traditional mathematical pleating into modern paper and foil luminaires.
