Swedish architect and designer Jonas Wagell (b. 1979) is celebrated for an approachable, minimalist aesthetic he describes as "generous minimalism." Educated at Konstfack and Berghs in Stockholm, he founded Studio Jonas Wagell in 2008, bringing graphic affection and rounded contours to furniture and lighting. Wagell is best known for the beloved JWDA Lamp series for Audo Copenhagen (formerly Menu), which pairs a delicate frosted glass sphere with an elemental concrete, marble, or brass base and dial dimmer. His portfolio spans internationally, designing the sculptural Roma seating collection for Tacchini, modular upholstery for Wendelbo, and home accessories for Muuto and Design Within Reach.
