Dutch designer and interior architect Edward van Vliet (b. 1965) is celebrated for an opulent, culturally layered approach that merges decorative arts, high-tech textiles, and geometric patterning. Graduating from Design Academy Eindhoven in 1989, he founded Studio Edward van Vliet in 1990, applying a sensory-rich perspective across furniture, lighting, and hospitality interiors worldwide. Van Vliet gained acclaim through collaborations with Italian and Dutch design houses. For Moroso, he created the landmark Sushi seating collection—a bold fusion of Eastern geometry and layered embroidery. His work with Moooi includes the mouth-blown Kaipo glass lamp, the Chalice pendant, and carpets like Celestial. He has also designed for Bisazza, Italamp, and Leolux.
