Rikke Frost
Danish industrial designer Rikke Frost (b. 1973) is celebrated for an empathetic, material-led approach that stimulates touch and sight. Graduating in industrial design from the Aarhus School of Architecture, Frost founded her studio in 2004, driven by a philosophy of combining unexpected materials to invite physical interaction. Frost gained international prominence after winning the Danish television design competition Danmarks næste klassiker (Denmark's Next Classic) in 2019. Her winning creation, the Sideways Sofa, was picked up by master maker Carl Hansen & Søn—an asymmetric, curving sofa combining steam-bent oak, woven paper cord, and fine upholstery. She has also authored functional furniture and lighting for WOUD, Warm Nordic, and Bolshoi.
