Vl38 Floor Lamp

The VL38 Floor Lamp is a refined example of Danish functionalism, originally designed in the late 1930s by architect Vilhelm Lauritzen in collaboration with Louis Poulsen for the Radiohuset building in Copenhagen. Relaunched in 2016, this elegant fixture maintains its retro-organic silhouette, featuring an asymmetrical, spun aluminium shade that is obliquely angled to provide precise, downward-directed light without glare. The shade and die-cast aluminium base are available in powder-coated black or white, paired with a slender, brushed brass stem that is left untreated to develop a unique patina over time. Modern technical enhancements include an integrated 9.6W LED module with two dimming levels (50% and 100%) and a programmable timer function for automatic shut-off after four or eight hours.
