Joco Side Table T2
Matt Black

The Joco Side Table T2 from Walter Knoll takes a strictly geometric approach to occasional furniture. Designed by the Austrian studio EOOS, it is constructed entirely from steel, bypassing heavy, solid volumes in favor of a highly reduced, open framework. Finished in a stark matte black or a warmer matte bronze, the design strips away unnecessary bulk. With a compact circular footprint, it is scaled to slide easily next to a reading chair or at the end of a sofa without visually cluttering the floor plan.
Its defining feature is the precisely detailed surface. Rather than relying on a solid sheet of metal, the round table top features a series of laser-cut geometric lines that form a subtle, jewel-like pattern. This slightly open structure allows light to pass through the top, casting distinct, structured shadows onto the floor beneath it. The surface is supported by a minimal base built from slender wire rods that intersect to create a rigid, highly stable foundation.
Despite its delicate, almost weightless appearance, the T2 is a hardworking fixture built to securely hold heavy art books, coffee cups, or table lamps without wobbling. Because the wire frame doesn't block sightlines, it keeps the room feeling light and spacious. Walter Knoll produces the Joco series in various heights and diameters, allowing you to use a single compact T2 table on its own or group it seamlessly with larger versions to build a multi-tiered surface. It is a quiet, highly architectural object that prioritizes everyday utility and strict material honesty.
