Scottish-Swedish designer Nick Ross is recognized for an intellectual, research-led practice that explores the cultural and historical narratives embedded within materials and archetypes. Educated at the Glasgow School of Art and Konstfack in Stockholm, Ross founded his Stockholm studio in 2014, crafting furniture, lighting, and objects defined by monumental presence, geometric purity, and tactile restraint. Ross achieved international prominence through his celebrated collaborations with Audo Copenhagen (formerly MENU). For the Danish brand, he created the bestselling Tearoom club chair and lounge series, inspired by Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s 1904 Willow Tearooms and noted for its curving, fully upholstered silhouette. His portfolio also includes the minimalist Passage Lounge Table, the Darkly Mirror series, and collaborations with European institutions and galleries examining classical craft and stone carving.
