The Lido eatery and bakery located on a prominent corner of Vester Voldgade in central Copenhagen is a light, airy, and welcoming neighborhood destination that focuses on connecting the local community over artisanal baked goods and flavorful breakfast plates. Designed in collaboration with the Copenhagen architecture and furniture studio Standard Practice, the interior architecture is driven by a strong conceptual dialogue that reflects a contemporary view of Italy from Denmark, paying homage to the Italian roots of its culinary co-founders. The design utilizes a intentionally limited and honest material palette consisting of rich Italian cherry wood, light Danish ash wood, and clean plasterboard. This warm architectural shell is anchored by a custom-built timber service counter where fresh pastries like lemon poppyseed swirls and sausage rolls stuffed with Italian salsiccia are displayed daily. The seating arrangement operates as a functional showroom for modern Scandinavian craftsmanship, fully furnished through a partnership with the design brand AndTradition. Guests can enjoy their meals indoors or along the sun-drenched sidewalk from the comfort of Space Copenhagen’s flowing, powder-coated steel Thorvald outdoor collection or Anderssen and Voll’s linear Ville dining range. Soft, atmospheric indoor illumination is provided by portable Bellhop table lamps from Flos alongside the striking, linear lines of the Arête Horizontal Pendant light hanging overhead
