EMU Research Centre

The EMU Research Centre (Centro Ricerche EMU) is the internal technical and stylistic engine of Umbria-based outdoor furniture pioneer EMU. Founded in Marsciano, Italy, the department has driven the brand’s industrial innovation for decades, pairing deep metallurgical expertise with human-centered ergonomics and rigorous weatherproofing standards. The engineering team developed EMU’s signature anti-corrosion treatments, cataphoresis coating, and precision metal-stamping techniques. Beyond collaborating with leading international architects, the internal team has designed defining collections in-house, including the lightweight steel-mesh Ronda chair—an international benchmark for contract and residential terraces—alongside the folding Snooze deckchairs and the versatile Cambro table systems.
