Copenhagen Chair

Lava Grey
The Copenhagen Chair from Cane-line takes a highly utilitarian approach to outdoor dining. Designed by the Danish studio Strand+Hvass, the piece is constructed entirely from powder-coated aluminum, bypassing heavy, traditional patio materials like wrought iron or thick teak. This single-material build keeps the chair incredibly lightweight while maintaining a rigid, durable frame that will not rust or degrade when left exposed to heavy rain or constant sunlight. Its shape is strictly functional, featuring a distinct, subtly angled backrest and an open, slatted seat. This slotted construction isn't just a visual detail—it actively prevents rainwater from pooling on the surface, ensuring the chair dries out rapidly after a storm without needing to be wiped down. Despite being cut from solid metal, the seat and back are contoured to follow the natural curves of the body, providing comfortable, immediate support for long outdoor dinners without strictly requiring an upholstered cushion. Built specifically to handle the demands of flexible outdoor spaces, the Copenhagen is fully stackable. This allows you to easily condense multiple chairs into a tight, vertical footprint, freeing up valuable deck or balcony space during the winter months or when clearing the patio. Available both as a straightforward side chair and in an armchair format, it is finished in muted, earthy tones like lava grey and dark green. It is a hardworking, low-maintenance fixture that brings clean, architectural lines to an outdoor space while prioritizing long-term survival.
