Norwegian designer Lars Beller Fjetland (b. 1983) is celebrated for merging traditional Nordic craftsmanship with radical material sustainability and biomimetic forms. Graduating from the Bergen Academy of Art and Design in 2012, Fjetland established his studio with a core philosophy centered on utilizing discarded, sustainable natural resources. Fjetland achieved worldwide acclaim with the whimsical Re-turned wooden birds, hand-carved from discarded leftover factory timbers. For Danish brand HAY, he conceived the Cloche lamp (with Joel Hoff) and the versatile Beller collection, alongside the molded agglomerated cork Pommel stools for Discipline. For Italian house Magis, he engineered the Kite chair, integrating circular, low-impact composite materials with sculptural, organic lines.
