Iskos-Berlin
Formed in Copenhagen in 2010 by Aleksej Iskos and Boris Berlin, Iskos-Berlin brought an exploratory, material-first philosophy to modern Scandinavian design. Building on decades of collaboration at Komplot Design, the duo approached industrial objects with technical curiosity, seeking pure geometries that surprise through unexpected textures and subtle wit. Their defining strength lies in pioneering sustainable manufacturing techniques. For Muuto, they created the celebrated Fiber Chair series, transforming an eco-friendly composite of recycled plastic and wood fibers into a fluid, tactile shell. Their acoustic lighting for Muuto (Under the Bell) and tactile felt seating for brands like Hay, Fornasarig, and Made by Hand demonstrated how pressed felt could sculpt light, sound, and comfort simultaneously. Iskos-Berlin merged advanced technology with poetic minimalism, crafting human-centered pieces designed to endure both structurally and aesthetically.
