Japanese industrial designer Kensaku Oshiro (b. 1977) is celebrated for bringing understated grace, fluid silhouettes, and tactile precision to contemporary furniture. Graduating with a Master’s in Industrial Design from the Scuola Politecnica di Design in Milan in 1999, Oshiro honed his craft collaborating with studios like Lissoni Associati and Barber & Osgerby before establishing his Milan studio in 2015. Oshiro has authored acclaimed collections for leading international design brands. For Italian master Kristalia, he created the sculptural Holo table, featuring an oval central cutout in bent sheet metal. For Poltrona Frau, he designed the Leplì stool and bench series, alongside the Sen occasional tables for De Padova and refined seating for Boffi, Arflex, and Ligne Roset. His work explores physical balance, visual lightness, and delicate transitions between metal, wood, and leather.
