Patera Pendant Lamp - Ø60 cm

The Patera Pendant Lamp is a modern reinterpretation of the classic chandelier, designed by Øivind Slaatto for Louis Poulsen in 2015. Inspired by the natural mathematical beauty of the Fibonacci sequence, the lamp is composed of a complex, hand-assembled structure of small diamond-shaped cells that spiral around a central light source. Each cell is precisely angled to capture and reflect light, ensuring a 100% glare-free experience when viewed from above 45 degrees, while also providing direct downward illumination and a soft upward glow to light the ceiling. Crafted from cut matte PVC foil or PET prism foil (for the silver version), the Patera creates a captivating interplay of light and shadow that transforms even when the lamp is switched off. The collection is available in four spherical diameters—Ø300 mm, Ø450 mm, Ø600 mm, and Ø900 mm—along with an ellipsoidal Patera Oval version introduced in 2021 for spaces with lower ceiling heights.
