Norwegian product designer Andreas Bergsaker is celebrated for an empathetic, hands-on practice that bridges traditional Scandinavian woodcraft with refined industrial manufacturing. Based in Copenhagen after earning his master’s degree in product design from Oslo and Akershus University College in 2015, Bergsaker focuses on creating resilient everyday objects designed to endure for generations. Bergsaker achieved widespread acclaim through high-profile collaborations with leading Danish design brands. For HAY, he conceived the celebrated Chisel Lounge Chair and wider seating collection—named for the classic carpentry tool and defined by bevelled wooden edges and solid craftsmanship. He also designed HAY’s Korpus Shelf, an ingenious, recyclable wall shelf stamped from single sheets of sheet aluminum with integrated concealed hooks. For Muuto, he created the turned-ash Focus Table Lamp, which pairs warm ambient light with an integrated pedestal tray for small essentials
