Strand + Hvass

Copenhagen design duo Strand + Hvass—founded in 1998 by Christina Strand and Niels Hvass—is celebrated for carrying the legacy of Danish Modernism into contemporary, user-focused forms. Both graduating from the Danish School of Design, the pair unites a deep respect for natural materials with innovative industrial techniques and ergonomic ease. The studio gained international recognition through enduring collaborations with master furniture makers. For Carl Hansen & Søn, they designed the Straight collection and the sculptural Extend dining table. For Four Design, they created versatile public seating systems like the FourCast series. Their work also includes functional outdoor and dining collections for Cane-line and Montana Furniture.
