Formed in Copenhagen in 1977 by Johannes Foersom and Peter Hiort-Lorenzen, Foersom & Hiort-Lorenzen MDD is an institution of contemporary Danish design. Their prolific portfolio spans major collaborations with Cane-line, Fredericia, and Lammhults. For Cane-line, they pioneered weatherproof comfort with icons like the Diamond lounge and Connec systems, shaping modern open-air living. For Fredericia, their Triton and Mikado chairs demonstrated their talent for pairing molded shells with tailored upholstery, winning multiple Danish Design Council awards. Through honest materials and human-centered engineering, the studio shapes enduring Scandinavian classics built for a lifetime of daily use.
