Cecilie Manz
Copenhagen based designer Cecilie Manz is widely recognized as one of the defining voices of contemporary Danish design. Educated at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and the University of Art and Design in Helsinki, Manz approaches each project with patient restraint, stripping objects down to their purest practical function while retaining subtle warmth. Her work spans furniture, lighting, and consumer electronics for world renowned brands. For Fritz Hansen, she created the sculptural Caravaggio pendant series, celebrated for its smooth metal shade, alongside the award winning Carve table and Essay dining series. Her long running collaboration with Bang & Olufsen yielded iconic portable speakers like the Beolit and Beosound A1, effortlessly pairing acoustic performance with tactile leather and machined aluminum. Manz balances industrial discipline with poetic serenity, crafting enduring pieces that elevate the rhythms of daily living.
