The 25hours Hotel Copenhagen Indre By designed by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio is a vibrant maximalist retreat housed in a nineteenth-century complex that formerly served as a porcelain factory and a university. The interior narrative themed Coming of Age explores the tension between Passion and Knowledge by blending academic nostalgia with eclectic artistry. The hotel features two hundred and forty-three rooms split into two distinct visual identities. Knowledge Rooms draw inspiration from scientific exploration with bespoke wallpapers featuring excerpts from Charles Darwin’s diaries and astronomical sketches by Tycho Brahe. Passion Rooms celebrate creativity through mixed-media collages by artist Sophie Klerk along with cork-wall headboards and graphic mural-style wallpapers. Public spaces are designed as a layered patchwork of architectural styles with the reception featuring a striking book-crafted sculpture as a nod to the building's university past. Specialized social zones include the Vinyl Room for music and the Love Library which is a cozy nook filled with curated literature. The furniture is a mix of bespoke creations and curated vintage finds with most room furniture and public banquettes custom-designed specifically for this site. A notable collaboration with Thonet features dining chairs produced in a unique colorway and fabric exclusive to this property while bespoke curtain patterns were developed with Pierre Frey. The design utilizes vibrant saturated tones such as aubergine, mustard, hunter green, and cobalt blue across wall paints and sofa patterns. Over one hundred original works of art are curated throughout the property including restrooms inspired by the colorful townhouses of Copenhagen’s waterfront. The Opinion Room serves as a two-toned debate chamber for meetings while polished parquet floors meet decorative red and white tiles in the open-plan bathrooms to emphasize a diverse material mix.
