Finnish designer Maija Puoskari (b. 1978) is celebrated for bringing the quiet serenity, botanical textures, and organic forms of the Finnish landscape into contemporary lighting and homeware. Holding degrees from the Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture, she established her Helsinki studio in 2012. Puoskari gained widespread recognition through poetic collaborations with Danish design brand Mater. Her signature Terho pendant series—inspired by the organic shape of acorns—pairs mouth-blown opal glass with FSC-certified alder wood, while the coordinating Tatti table lamps mirror wild mushrooms. She has also designed minimalist glass, ceramic, and timber pieces for Iittala, Skagerak (now Fritz Hansen), and Kauniste.
