Danish lighting designer and entrepreneur Mads Caprani (1942–2014) was a visionary master of late Danish Modernism, celebrated for bringing fluid, sculptural organic forms to functional home illumination. Working during the 1970s and 1980s, Caprani operated his own lighting firm, Caprani Light, developing innovative timber-bending techniques. Caprani achieved design immortality with the iconic Timberline Floor Lamp (1977), reissued today by Danish heritage design house Gubi. Defined by its graceful, sinuous swan-neck spine crafted from steam-bent birch and oak plywood, the lamp features a cast-iron crescent-shaped foot and a pleated white textile shade. The design achieved international acclaim for its organic balance, eliminating harsh angular hardware in favor of botanical curves.
