The Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel (Norway's tallest building at 37 floors and 117 meters) presents a bold late-20th-century modernist exterior featuring reflective glass facades and a tapering roofline.
• The Envelope & Arrival: Designed by White Arkitekter, the high-rise uses a shimmering skin of mirror glass that catches the ever-shifting Nordic light. Inside the ground lobby, heavy gray concrete structural columns have been re-imagined with polished marble accents to soften the industrial scale.
• Nordic Functionalism: Interiors lean into clean lines, warm timber, and neutral color palettes. Public spaces and guest rooms combine international corporate utility with tactile Scandinavian furniture, wool textiles, and soft ambient lighting.
• Vertical Panoramas: The design prioritizes verticality and vistas. An external glass elevator cuts up the face of the tower, while the upper-floor wellness and restaurant areas use floor-to-ceiling glass to frame unobstructed views over the city skyline and the Oslofjord.
