Margrethe Odgaard
Danish textile and color designer Margrethe Odgaard is celebrated for an approach grounded in sensory exploration, tactile materials, and the psychological resonance of color. Educated at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and the Rhode Island School of Design, Odgaard worked in Paris and Philadelphia before establishing her Copenhagen studio in 2013, dedicating her practice to how surfaces interact with ambient light and touch. Odgaard has shaped the contemporary textile landscape through key collaborations with leading Scandinavian brands, including Muuto, Kvadrat, HAY, and Montana Furniture. For Muuto, she designed the renowned Ply Rug, the richly textured Pebble Rug, and the geometric Ample Throw. Her ongoing partnership with Montana resulted in an acclaimed 42-color architectural palette crafted to harmonize spatial emotions.
