Kastholm & Fabricius
Danish architect duo Jørgen Kastholm (1931–2007) and Preben Fabricius (1931–1984) were pivotal figures of late Danish Modernism, famous for pairing cold steel with warm leather and timber. Meeting at the School for Interior Design under Finn Juhl, they founded their studio in 1961, establishing an international reputation centered on precision engineering. Manufactured historically by Kill International and produced today by Lange Production and Bo-Concept, their masterworks include the sculptural FK 6720 bucket chair, the Scimitar Chair, and the minimalist X-Chair. In lighting, their tiered metal P376 pendant (1963) for &Tradition remains a benchmark of glare-free architectural illumination.
