Jasper Morrison
London born designer Jasper Morrison is globally celebrated as a master of quiet functionalism. Educated at Kingston Polytechnic and the Royal College of Art, Morrison gained early acclaim in the 1980s before formalizing his design ethos with Naoto Fukasawa through the concept of the Super Normal, celebrating objects that serve their practical purpose so quietly that their quality is felt rather than flaunted. His long standing partnerships with giants like Vitra, Flos, Cappellini, and Alessi have yielded contemporary archetypes. For Vitra, he created the injection molded HAL chair and the cork Cork Family stools. For Flos, he designed the minimalist blown glass Glo Ball collection and the sleek Smithfield luminaire, celebrated for their glare free glow.
