The 'Spine' series was originally designed for a number of elite restaurants on the Copenhagen gourmet scene in 2011. Since then, the range has made a splash on the international scene, and can be found in some of the largest and most luxurious restaurants, hotels and private residences. The series combines a familiar design, characterised by its Scandinavian origins from Space Copenhagen, with unorthodox details that capture the viewer in a whole new experience of design and furniture architecture. The chair's signature detail - the slender y-shaped frame of the chair's centre - depicts a spine, hence the name 'Spine', adding an illustrative playful detail not seen before. The 'Spine' furniture is created with generous proportions, creating a relaxed seating experience and ensuring many hours of comfortable conversation in the living room and around the dining table. The series' choice of materials, consisting of a classic combination of leather and wood, is executed by world-class carpentry at Fredericia Furniture, using upholstery methods also seen on the iconic 'Spanish Chair'.
