Nørgaard & Kechayas

Copenhagen-based studio Nørgaard & Kechayas—founded in 2009 by Christian Nørgaard and Aris Kechayas—is celebrated for an unapologetic, direct design language that balances industrial manufacturing logic with warm Scandinavian character. Graduating from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, the duo pairs hands-on prototyping with everyday functional problem-solving. The studio gained prominent international acclaim through fruitful partnerships with leading Danish design brands. For New Works, they created the celebrated Material Pendant series—an elemental fixture featuring a simple conical shade produced in diverse natural materials including cork, marble, terracotta, smoked oak, and cast concrete. They also authored the iconic Kizu Table Lamp, balancing an oversized opaline bowl atop a marble base, alongside seating for Audo Copenhagen.
