Farshad Farzankia
Iranian-born, Copenhagen-based artist and graphic designer Farshad Farzankia (b. 1980) is celebrated for bringing raw graphic energy, cross-cultural symbolism, and vibrant neo-expressionism to contemporary art and spatial curation. Trained in graphic design at the Danish School of Graphic Arts, Farzankia worked in visual communication before dedicating his studio practice to painting, sculpture, and printmaking. Farzankia has emerged as an influential visual voice within modern Scandinavian interiors, collaborating with institutions like Edition Copenhagen and design houses such as Verpan. His work is distinguished by energetic acrylic brushwork, recurring domestic motifs—such as birds, coffee pots, and tulip chalices—and bold primary palettes that merge memories of Persian rugs and cinema with Nordic functionalism. Exhibited at ARKEN, Trapholt, and the Heerup Museum, his artworks frequently anchor minimalist architectural spaces.
