Danish architect and furniture designer Kasper Thorup is celebrated for an assertive, material-led aesthetic that unites raw industrial metal with refined Scandinavian proportions. Graduating from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts (KADK) in 2017, he established his eponymous Copenhagen studio, Thorup Copenhagen, in 2018. Thorup gained rapid acclaim through his Patrone lighting collection—a family of wall, pendant, and table luminaires crafted from diamond-cut, hand-brushed solid brass. His furniture portfolio includes the graphic Noel Chair series, juxtaposing slender steel rods with natural linen webbing, and the solid-wood Mio Table series. Thorup prioritizes honest assembly, localized Nordic fabrication, and unlacquered finishes that patina naturally over time.
